Conference Overview
Citrus Australia is pleased to host the 2010 National Conference in Queensland; home of the Australian mandarin. The conference is expected to attract 200-250 citrus industry representatives eager to learn, meet and network with like-minded people. The attendees will include growers, packers, marketers, exporters, researchers, government representatives, commercial providers and regional associations. The program has a focus on marketing and showcasing the local citrus industry, and features a private screening of the new Australian movie`Summer Coda, filmed in citrus orchards around Mildura.
Program Highlights
Getting off to a leisurely start on the Sunday, delegates will notice the program intensifying Monday afternoon, and Wednesday morning. A field trip all day Tuesday will take delegates to orchards and packing houses throughout the Gayndah region. The field trip will showcase the latest fruit grading technology, and update delegates on things like biological pest control, and the Federal Government's harvest labour program. Our international speakers include Greg Nelson, DNE, on marketing in the USA and other countries, Nobuyuki Sugiura, Celsus Export, Japan on Australian citrus opportunities in Japan and, Kelvin Bezuidenhout, ZESPRI, on how the citrus industry can emulate ZESPRI's successful marketing program in Asia.
